Rich dad poor dad has revolutionized the world and has truly changed my life and my outlook on money. Most people solely focus on their careers and they hardly think about the most important thing in life, money. That’s right, they want all the promotions that they can get. For what? More money or maybe to have more freedom, but they got it all wrong. If I had not read the Rich Dad Poor Dad book, then I might not have become an entrepreneur. It was a real eye-opener and the fun thing is that my Boss recommended me to read that book. After reading the book I opened my close ended mind and started thinking with an open mind and looked at my life. My father always taught me that the Rich are greedy or People who do business always fail in the end as it is very risky like gambling, but the truth is that my dad was so scared that like him, he wanted me to make no mistake and become an employee in a Multi National Company with extra benefits.

Looking back at that which was not that long ago. He was so wrong. It is a choice. People become millionaire by choice. They may choose to become a millionaire entrepreneur or they choose the life of an employee. My father had a lot of financial struggles. He always complained that he had no money for that or he can’t afford that, but in the end he never admitted that it was because of his spending habits and having only one source of income that is the job. The truth is most people have only one source of income and that is a big problem, as if you lose that source then you are done for.

I will share some quotes from the infamous book Rich Dad Poor Dad in hopes that you understand something about money.

Quote No. 1:

It’s not how much money you make. It’s how much money you keep

It really is one of the most powerful things he said in the book. If you make millions of dollars and spent it all on mansions and cars, then what will you do in case you have a car accident. Just like the poor you won’t have the money to pay those bills. So basically how much you keep that money makes you rich and not how much you make.

Quote No. 2:

Winners are not afraid of losing. But losers are. Failure is part of the process of success. People who avoid failure also avoid success.”

Image by Gerd Altmann from Pixabay

That is very true. Have you ever seen a baby that started walking on his/her first try and never fell. I bet, even Einstein fell down when he was a little baby learning to walk. But baby falls with a smile on their face and continue to fall until they learn to walk. By trial and error they learn and that is what entrepreneurship is about. I mean, heck, even in Job people make mistakes. It is inevitable, so why fear mistakes? Embrace it and learn from them.

Quote No. 3:

If you want to go somewhere, it is best to find someone who has already been there.”

This makes a lot of sense. Imagine if you had no teacher in school and you are supposed to write an exam on a subject that you have no idea of. You don’t even know which are the tricky questions which will be asked in the exam. Just nothing but a sheet of paper to fill in all the answers. What are the odds that you will pass? Slim to none right? It’s like shooting in the dark. That’s why you need a mentor to guide you when you are getting started as an entrepreneur. For that matter a teacher to pass your exam, to achieve your goals, to achieve your dream.

Quote No. 4:

“The most successful people in life are the ones who ask questions. They’re always learning. They’re always growing. They’re always pushing.”

We are always learning something new right? Like the new touch smart phone when it got released I had no idea how to use it but I learned. Even if anyone wants to change their job they have to study for the interview and learn new skill if they want higher pay. So why do you think that you know everything about money? People take money for granted and then what happens? They lose all their money and that is a big mistake. So if you want to make more money you need to learn about money and then it will start to grow even faster.

Quote No. 5:

“Everyone can tell you the risk. An entrepreneur can see the reward.”

There is risk in everything, security is an illusion. You see Facebook has very secured servers yet passwords get leaked. There is piracy everywhere despite having the best of the best security, in films, in games, in softwares. Just like that there is no guarantee that you will keep your Job forever or you will have good health for the rest of your life. If you are doing nothing about it, then you are taking the biggest risk of all. Instead of finding faults in the business strategy find out the pro’s first and then weight it against the cons. That way you know whether this risk is worth taking or not.

Quote No. 6:

The only difference between a rich person and a poor person is how they use their time”

We all have 24 hours in a day. It doesn’t matter whether you are rich or poor we only get 24 hours in a day. Now what do you do with those 24 hours? Watch Movies? Play video games? Or get drunk with friends? If your answer is yes to at least one of them, then you are procrastinating and wasting your time. It’s not like you will never watch movies, but you need to focus on your goals and focus on increasing your revenue. Rather than wasting time, learn some high income skills so that you can beat your poverty. And once you are financially free then you can think of all the luxuries.

Quote No. 7:

Workers work hard enough to not be fired, and owners pay just enough so that workers won’t quit.”

Yes, This is true. If you are working a job for more than 2 years, then you might feel that everything is monotonous and feel like just complete the work for the sake of it and get to home and relax. I’ve been there. Initially I was excited about the new work, but as years went by that excitement dies. If that is happening, it means that you want a change in life which most people do by changing their jobs but do you really want to repeat this cycle? Entrepreneurs work for free and do stuff as per their own will and get the most amount of rewards. They leave behind their dull lives and take a risk for once to make it big. With more money you have more choices.

Quote No. 8:

“Never say you cannot afford something. That is a poor man’s attitude. Ask HOW to afford it.”

A statement closes the mind and a question opens the mind. It’s an excuse to just state that you cannot do this or that, but in reality the truth is you don’t want to think about it because you fear that it is not possible and stay in denial. On the hand if you ask a question to yourself “How can I do that?” then your brain starts thinking about it. Your brain tries to find a solution for it. Let’s say you are stuck on something at work. Maybe your code didn’t compile. Do you give up? You try everything you can in order to avoid getting on the bad side of your boss right? Likewise, why should you give up on money? Money is not taught in school so are all of the world’s computer languages or history or science. Not everything can be taught in school so get over it and learn it for yourself.

Quote No. 9:

The philosophy of the rich and the poor is this: the rich invest their money and spend what is left. The poor spend their money and invest what is left.”

Most poor people don’t even invest a single dime from their pocket. They just want to buy fancy stuff and show off to people whom they are never going to meet again. Why do this? Makes no sense. But the dear Ego of theirs gets hurt when someone passes a comment on their looks. Are these people really that important in your life? Really, all these things are acting as a roadblock to your success. They pass comments because they themselves are unhappy and miserable in their life, in fact, if it bothers you so much just laugh back at them and see their reactions. I guarantee you there blood will be boiling from inside. The fact is investment is the strategy to multiply your money at first it may seem like an expense, but if you know what you are doing you will figure out a way to turn that investment into a fortune.

Quote No. 10:

“Emotions are what make us human. Make us real. The word ’emotion’ stands for energy in motion. Be truthful about your emotions, and use your mind and emotions in your favor, not against yourself.”

You get sad when someone says mean things to you and you want to hit them so hard that it breaks something, don’t you? The rich and the poor are human beings. Everyone gets angry at something now and then, but how to do channel that anger in a productive way is the question? If you hit the person you will be satisfied at that time, but later when you go to jail for assault it won’t be fun would it? Or if you ignore them, then they will get agitated and say even more mean things to you. Does it matter? It doesn’t really mean anything. Maybe put on the earphone when you go past them. I guarantee you they will stop. In the business world, the fear of losing money is what stops people from taking action
